BroncosCountry likes those Ws – as told by a Tweetcap

It’s fun to relive the wins.

*WARNING: This is a story highlighting tweets. If you do not like looking at tweets, do not read this story. It will be hazardous for your mental health, apparently. However, if you love celebrating Broncos wins with excited reactions, then enjoy.

It was another win on Sunday, and despite a slow start from the defense that may have brought a little “East Coast away game in the humidity” PTSD, the Broncos got into rhythm on both offense and defense and put together a solid game.

As Coach Fangio said:

WAY TO ****ING GO‼️

Two things we won’t dwell on in this win are the horrendous officiating and the not-so-special teams.

I’m starting to really dislike these refs.

One downer: Since start of 2018 no NFL team has given up more kick/punt return touchdowns than the Broncos with 5 (50 games). #9sports

Although Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars got to the highlight reel first, the rest of it was really all Broncos. But that highlight reel was spread around the team – big first downs, scores, sacks, INTs…it was glorious.

Nice 1st down completion from QB to QB @teddyb_h2o -> @Kendall_Hinton2

Teddy Bridgewater was so good on that series. Remember after first play Broncos had second and 16 at own 14. Turned out to be 80-yard TD drive. The patient, perfect touch 33-yard pass to Sutton was special. Finishes with TD pass on great play call to Tim Patrick. #9sports

I believe Denver had only one scoring drive last season that was longer than eight minutes. https://t.co/FYm3E1kp2s

Trevor Lawrence on the Jaguars’ opening drive: 5 of 7 for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Trevor Lawrence since: 6 of 18 for 20 yards and an interception.

Safe to say the Broncos’ defense adjusted.

Denver media was happy about it. And for a second week in a row, agreed that a good bit of the credit goes to the quarterback.

With today’s win, Broncos QB @teddyb_h2o becomes 4th player in NFL history to open a season w/2 TD, 0 INT, 75%+completion (min. 12 att.) in each of 1st two games.

Bridgewater joins Drew Brees (2018), Aaron Rodgers (2015) and Jeff George (1994) with this distinction.

— Patrick Smyth (@psmyth12) September 19, 2021

Of those four, Teddy Bridgewater is the only one to have both of those first two games come on the road. https://t.co/3Qnmn9GMfS

— RK (@RyanKoenigsberg) September 20, 2021

The Broncos have had 7 games in franchise history in which their starting QB:

* Passed for at least 300 yards
* Completed at least 75% of his passes
* Had no interceptions

Peyton Manning had five of these games. Craig Morton had one.

Teddy Bridgewater had the seventh Sunday.

But as predicted and hoped for, the defense stymied a promising young QB even as the Jacksonville offense showed some signs of life.

The @Broncos defense made life difficult for the No. 1 overall pick.

Trevor Lawrence’s numbers: 14/33, 118 YDS, TD, 2 INTs

Jaguars’ first drive:

11 plays, 83 yards, 7.5 yards per play, one first down earned (not incl. penalties) every 3.7 snaps

Jaguars’ next eight drives:

39 plays, 106 yards, 2.7 yards per play, one first down every 6.5 snaps

Raiders and Broncos are the only 2-0 in the AFC, as expected.

Jacksonville fans were not so thrilled – but they were entertaining.

But the Broncos and Broncos Country were rightfully ecstatic because winning is easy to like – and two in a row to start the season feels like a long time ago since that’s happened.
